Thursday! Almost the weekend, and by the tine you guys are reading this I will be on my way to the airport, as I’m off to Cyprus today. My friend Steph is getting married, and I can’t wait to experience my first Greek wedding. In today’s post, I’m going to be talking about the steps you need to follow in order to make a fresh start.
If you’re feeling a bit lost with life, not sure of what you want to do, or where you’re going, this is post is for you. When you go through periods of reflection, you just want to to scrap it all and make a change. Sometimes we may not know what we want to change, or what to do. Times like this calls for some good conversation with those who are wise and close to you. Always check the foundation of the advice that someone is giving you. Ask yourself, Is it coming from a place of jealously or a place of genuine love as a friend? Make sure your decisions are whats best for you, and not for anyone else!
If you’re having this quarter life or a mid life crisis, maybe it’s time to review a few things in your life, and make a fresh start. Below I have 4 simple steps to make this happen:
Steps for a Fresh Start
- Make a decision – This is the first and most important step you need to follow. Everything starts off with a decision. You need to know what you want, and decide to achieve it. Once you have made this decision everything else should follow. Belief in yourself, motivation, inspiration and so on.
- Plan – Work out what exactly it is you need to do to make this happen. Are you tired of your box room and single bed? Start looking at houses and plan towards living in the environment you want. Not getting that promotion you’ve been waiting for, for over a year now? Get on LinkedIn and job hunt. If you’re tired of your weight, sign up to a gym and go! Research and seek advice. Get the picture?
- Clear Out – I love this one. I love a good clear out. The state of your environment is usually an indication of your state of mind. If you’re stressed out and confused, your room and your desk is likely to be a mess, and disorganised. There will be clutter everywhere. Obviously, there are some people who are just messy! But sometimes clearing the mess and the clutter, your wardrobe even, can give you the sense of clarity, peace and organised satisfaction that you need.
- Start – Just do it. No point in complaining if you’re not going to get up and make a change. What is that they say? “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten”. Do the damn thang!

I love the outfit for this post! Also totally agree with those four steps. I should really look at clear outs more often!
