The Art of Positive Thinking

pink roses - style and the sass

Hi Guys!!

Happy Monday and all that jazz…In today’s post, I’m going to be talking about positive thinking. As you probably have noticed, there was no post last week! I personally haven’t had the best week or two, for many reasons, but I’m happy regardless. I’ve also got a really bad cold, but as usual I always bounce back.

Now positive thinking isn’t always easy to do, especially when everything around you isn’t going to plan. I always repeat this saying on my blog, but seriously, do not let sight block your vision! What you see around you, does not determine your future. It does not determine the outcome of a situation, and it certainly doesn’t mean it’s the end. Likewise, if everything around you is all rosy, prosperous and looking good, don’t get complacent. Actively do all the things you need to do, to be a better version of you, to maintain and improve on all the areas that are doing well for you. I’ve summarised a few tips to bare in mind:

Believe in You

This is a simple, very cliche tip, but it’s so important when it comes to positive thinking. If you don’t believe your worthy of something, believe you’re capable of something, the likelihood is that you’re not, and it’s because your mind does not have the capacity to believe you can achieve. The truth is that you can, but when you have the ‘ I can’t do it’ mind set, you put a self fulfilling limit on your life.

You are a product of your thoughts; and these thoughts form the foundation of every proactive thing that you do. Take the limits off your imagination,  dream big and actively work towards it. Talk to yourself daily, tell yourself how amazing you are. This will boost your confidence greatly, when you start to believe it. You might surprise yourself by what you can achieve. Start believing in yourself, and work confidently knowing you can.

 Bounce Back

Life has a habit of throwing curve balls at you, that might throw you off for a while you a while, but the key is to bounce back. As I said the last two weeks haven’t been the best, but things won’t turn around if you don’t take action. If you’re not happy about something change it, if you need to say something, think about it and say it. What ever you need to do, just do it. After all when you fall flat the only way is up!

Positive Vibes, Positive Thinking

This is an important one, everything mentioned above is easier said than done. So the perfect way to keep on top of this is to feed your positive inspiration. It always needs a top up. As I mentioned in my Spring Motivation Post, I always read books that inspire me in my areas of interest. After reading, I always have some new fire to achieve my goals, and I’m always more proactive!

I also surround myself with positive people, who are just as driven if not more than I am, and we encourage each other to make those steps, however small they are to achieving our goals. We share our issues be it work or business, and we give advise to each other, just all round good motivation and empowerment. I may actually write a post actually about this in detail, so keep an eye out!

There is so much power in your words, positive thinking leads to positive words, and positive words leads to positive action and so on and so forth. Your words shape your environment, and everything you do day-to-day.

Works vs Faith

Finally, this brings me to my last point faith vs works. There’s a saying that goes “faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26). what this basically means is that if you don’t have faith in something (belief), you won’t actively go out of your way to do something. Likewise you won’t do anything that you do not have belief in. In other words, you won’t wake up at the crack of dawn to go to work, if you didn’t believe you would get paid, same way when you’re at your desk clock watching, you remember why you are there – to get paid! It’s not enough thinking to yourself “I can’t wait to be promoted”, but you do the same thing you’ve always done everyday at work, and other are getting promoted instead of you.

Actions is the perfect demonstration of how much you actually believe you can achieve. So get out there and be proactive.

Anyway guys, I hope this helps if you’re having one of those days. Until the next post!

I love this post, really have to agree that a lot of positive thinking starts with bouncing back and believing in yourself! So many of us have self doubts but we must keep the faith!
