So today’s post is all about making positive declarations over your life, and to see it come into manifestation. After a few episodes of bad luck most recently, I’ve been inspired to write this post as my situations have turned around. We are truly the authors of our destiny, and it’s important that we stay on track. Fulfilling what each and every one of us has been called to do…making sure we use the talents and gifts we have been endowed with!

I made a degree and a declaration over a few situations I was facing, and I’ve already seen things change drastically. A few words spoken in faith really does go a long way when you believe something! This is what I hope to share with you today.

Believe It

I spoke about faith without works, in my previous post ‘The Art of Positive Thinking’, referring to James 2:14-26. This scripture is basically saying, if you don’t have faith in something (belief), you won’t actively go out of your way to do something. Likewise, you won’t be compelled to do something that you don’t believe in. So in essence, faith and works work together.

If you truly want to change a situation, or do something new – you need to make sure that it’s something that you believe in. This forms the foundation of everything you do day-to-day. Having faith, is also that peace knowing that it’s already done. It’s that belief that convicts you everyday to be accountable for everything you do.

We as human beings say many things, without really paying attention to what we are actually saying…Saying about jobs and careers. For example, what are you saying about that house you’re struggling to buy, or that broken relationship? There is a proverb that says we should guard our hearts, as the issues of life flow from it (Proverbs 4:23). If you’re one of those people that say…”I will never be able to afford that”, then you probably won’t! Deep down you don’t believe that one day you can buy that car of your dreams.

I always take the outlook of, “I will be able to afford this pretty soon” because my life has no limits.  And it’s this thought process, powered by faith and belief, is what pushes me as a person everyday. I try harder everyday, I network everyday and I just try to achieve excellence everyday. My life isn’t the same as it was this time last year and next year there will be another upgrade. The important thing most of all is to believe in yourself!

…Decree and Declare It!

Now in context of making positive declarations, these decrees only make sense if you believe it, and it’s final. The word ‘decree’ is defined as an authoritative order, sometimes having the force of law. When something becomes law, it  becomes something that has to be done. You need to get into the habit of making decrees over your life, your career and situations. Knowing this, when you make a decree, ensure that faith is behind it, and you stand in your authority for me, which is Christ. As you’ve made it your law, you will e convicted to get it done.

Words have so much power. If you knew how much power our words carried, we would all take our time to think before we speak. We’ve all herd the saying ‘life and death is in the power of the tongue’ (Proverbs 18:21) right? Which brings me onto my next point, making positive declarations. To ‘declare’, or to make a ‘declaration’ is to make known, and state clearly official terms, meaning that our decisions (decrees), should be spoken aloud.

This is a simple, but most affective formula  you can use in your day-to-day. To believe, decree and declare. The last few weeks have been testing, and this is what has honestly kept me going. I had to remind myself of the the authority that I have, and the authority of the words I speak. However it is important to remember that you might go through bad times, and this is a period where you should watch what words come out of your mouth. But instead, decree and declare favour, success and accomplishments.

Love this post T! I definitely need to start instilling more positive declarations into my life! It’s easy to get bogged down with negativity, thinking and saying negative things but I’m learning more and more that that isn’t our innate behaviour but rather learned habits. I totally agree with the power that words have in your life so I need to practice more of only speaking positivity. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂 x

Thanks Elvira! This means a lot. You’re right we do get into the habbit of saying negative things, and we need to get out of this learned behaviour! It’s always good to surround yourself with positive people too, and you’re a ray of positivity. Xx
