What better way to kick of the festive season with a Christmas dinner with House of Fraser! This is one of the busiest periods of the year. Everyone is trying to squeeze in their last-minute catch ups, dinners and parties before Christmas and the new year. It’s also a reflective period, to look back on all the things that you achieved and what could have been done differently. My favourite part of the festive period is gift giving. There is always more blessing in giving than receiving, you never know how much you can make someone’s day or even their Christmas!

Christmas gift shopping is easy when the person you’re buying for drops you hints. However, it’s always good to look at Christmas gift guides and collections for inspiration. House of Fraser definitely has it covered when it comes to Christmas gifts,  and has been my go-to this year. Makeup is always a great idea when it comes to Christmas presents for us girls who can’t get enough of makeup and nude lipstick! I like to be surprised, and it always means a lot when someone just gets it right, because they know you so well! My true highlight of Christmas is being around the people I love,  and creating special memories.

Christmas Dinner with a View at Searcys at the Gherkin

I was kindly invited to a Christmas dinner by the team at House of Fraser. This was to celebrate the festive period and gift giving, and to have dinner with a view. In addition, it was an opportunity to meet other bloggers and influencers in the industry. The dinner was hosted in the Perrier-Jouet room on the 38th floor of The Gherkin, which has an amazing view of London.

The evening was filled with Christmas cheer, champagne and great company. It was more than just dinner, we got the opportunity to learn how to make popular cocktails such as Mojitos. We also had the opportunity to learn how to wrap presents properly, by the London Crafts club. The activities were great icebreakers, giving us a chance to get to know each other better. The night ended with an amazing Christmas dinner, a Searcys favourite. I had turkey with all the trimmings which was delicious.

It was lovely to attend such an intimate event around this festive period. I love the fact that it was a small group of us, and we all got involved in conversions, about the industry and the future. A beautiful thing blogging has brought, is that real people now are in a position that celebs once filled. Truly self-made individuals, coming together, laughing together and sharing embarrassing stories with one another by the end of the night. This was a great start to my December and the run-up before the New Year. The last 12 months have been a whirlwind, and I’m truely looking forward to what the new year will bring. Thank you once again to House of Fraser for a lovely evening, and Searcys at the Gherkin for being amazing hosts!
