Gucci Marmont loafers have been at the top of my shoe wish list for some now, however, when I walk into Gucci…I walk out with something else! So when a friend was passing through Heathrow airport, I couldn’t resist the tax free discount. Finally, these stunning shoes are mine! Admittedly, when I originally fell in love with these shoes, I was obsessed with the black suede. I thought they were so classic and chic, and I could already imagine how I would style them. Blue mom jeans, black biker jacket and a blouse is how the top was styled in my imagination. But as always my mind changes, and as fickle as one can be with fashion – so is my style!

These beautiful shoes are made from a laminate leather or ‘platinum’ leather it’s sometimes called. It features the gold double ‘GG’ (signature of Marmont), over the fringing on the toes. It also has black piping going round the shoes. Size wise, I was advised to go a size down or half a size, as they’re real leather they apparently stretch out. They were so tight at first, I almost exchanged them for the size up, but it’s safe to say I’ve broken into them now!  To find out more about the bag, check out my recent post ‘The Pochette Métis by Louis Vuitton’. So here it is, back again with another style post this week.

Asymmetric Tops – A Reflection of my Style

This beautiful top is from ASOS WHITE, one of my favourite collections that ASOS does. While reflecting on the possible fluff to write around this style post, it dawned on me how the asymmetry of the design is also a reflection of my style. I hate matching generally, unless it it’s subtle; for example matching bags and shoes – but the outfit needs to be miss matched otherwise.

Wearing one colour throughout or various shades is trendy, and very fashion. However when people do hard core matching…it’s just not for me. I tend to prefer to be more daring, rather than conservative with my style.

The silk version in navy blue, is what originally caught my eye, which was sold out at the time so opted for this colour. Words can’t express enough how much I love this top (and my shoes), as it’s so different in comparison to anything else I have in my wardrobe. The long top, and the cotton fabric gives it the air of casual chic. That ‘dressed up’ look, when you made minimal effort. The model styles it with trainers on the website, however it also works so well with loafers – or to really dress it up heels. This top, and my Gucci Marmont loafers have definitely been my best spring purchase so far!
