It’s almost Friday *moonwalks* 🙂
It’s June, and it’s been sunny this week summer is finally making an appearance, which means summer shopping. This week I picked up a few makeup essentials, mainly because I ran out of a few things, but I’m also trying new products too.
So this time last year, my make up was pretty basic…foundation, mascara, eyebrow cake and that was pretty much it. On a night out I would put on some Eylure lashes and eyeliner! But I decided to give myself a make over, I needed to make a change to my style and my makeup was part of this.
Makeup Buys
So this month I bought mascara from YSL, two new blushers from MAC and some setting power by Sacha, thanks to my friend Elaine who bangs on about this all the time! Actually she made me buy the blushers too haha! Anyway, loving everything so far. These blushers, along with my highlight literally made my face look like YESS, and as a result, I took a million selfies on snap chat the day I tried out all these makeup products….so sorry to everyone that follows me 🙂
Razin is a really good blusher, especially for girls with darker skin like me. I often find it hard to find shades that suit me, I did give up trying to look, as my makeup looks are quite simple. So thanks Elaine for these recommendations! The setting powder from Sacha is fab too, for getting rid of that shinny face as well as for setting. I do find that on my skin, it isn’t ideal for ‘baking’, as it’s very yellow, so I apply this quite lightly to get the right affect. The first time I used it I looked like a piece of plantain, which wasn’t the look I was going for haha! So if you’re dark skin use this sparsely.
Now I love YSL mascaras, and have been using Baby Doll for the last 2 years or so, so when I herd about their new range of mascaras I knew I had to try. The YSL Vinyl Couture mascaras come in a range of colours, but I got black, which is actually jet black – in comparison to the mascaras I’ve tried. I loved Baby Doll, as it was a build-able mascara for volume and length, but the new YSL Vinyl Couture, it’s supposed to be an all-in-one of their other mascaras, and give a curling affect. So far I’m obsessed. I do prefer the brush head of Baby Doll, as my eyelashes are short and curly already, but I still love the affect it’s giving me. I haven’t had to wear false lashes for a while. I love the style of the see through bottle too!
So yeah, these are my June makeup essentials!
