Hey Lovelies!
London Fashion Week ended last week, but the fashion events and shows are still in full swing! With today being the final day of Milan Fashion Week. If you’ve been following the shows in Milan, they have been awesome, with amazing productions behind the shows. If you have been keeping up with it all, let me know what shows have been your favourite!
London Fashion Week Look
So last week was a great week! I took it off as last minute holiday, and I thought I would make it as productive as possible for the blog. I had so much fun, I don’t think I really chilled much, but I enjoyed my lie-ins! Thank you to Sunglasses Hut for inviting Jess (Look What I Got) and I to Fashion Week to see the Oliver Spencer Show!
Okay so working full-time, and a busy weekend schedule due to church commitments, meant I could only go to the final day of fashion week. I did end up at the Look Fantastic blogger lounge they had on, on the Monday. I wore a red knitted dress from H&M…(yes my addiction continues) and I got my hair done with the guys at Philip B.
So for the Oliver Spencer show, I chose to wear this gold metallic top I have been obsessed with from Zara. I paired it with these stone coloured cullotes from ASOS, and I went for a more glam casual look with these minimal Stan Smiths, and of course sunglasses.
The Outfit
Top – Zara
Cullotes – Asos
Trainers – Adidas Stan Smiths via Offspring
Bag – Gucci
Earrings – H&M
The Oliver Spencer Show
The Oliver Spencer show was the closing show of this seasons London Fashion Week. It was a special show for two reasons. First being that it’s the only menswear brand to partake in Fashion Week (as it’s predominately women’s wear), they put on a unique show. In partnership with the social media platform Vero (available via the Apple app store), they gave guests the chance to buy items from their new collection – right there and then, fresh off the catwalk!
The AW16 collection was inspired by Afrobeats. Now if you know me, or follow me on snap chat you will know how much I love Afrobeats! How can I not, especially as I’m of African heritage, and music and dancing is a huge part our culture. So yes I had a boogie in my seat with Jess haha! Hats off to the live musicians who added the seal to the show! Apparently Oliver Spencer was inspired by Ginger Baker who collaborated with the legendary Fela Kuti – a famous Nigerian musician.
The collection featured casual tailored cuts, coupled with knitwear pieces as layering options. The collection featured a variety of fabrics and textures such as, suede, velvet, corduroy and faux astrakhan. The colour palette of the collection was more earth toned, featuring colours such as dark/navy blues, greys, browns and forest greens. So go and check out this brand if you are new.
