Hi Beautiful People!
Eeek! Second blog post of the week, and it’s almost Friday! 🙂 Today I’m talking minimalism, featuring this beautifully simple bell sleeve top from COS and my quest for change.
Okay so May had me reflecting on many things, like what I have achieved or yet to achieve on my 6 month plan, what my next set of goals will be etc. As well as blog aspirations, fashion and fitness to look to till the end of the year, I decided I needed to declutter my life. So I’m on a quest for minimalism. This includes clothes, room, friends, my hand bag and even my desk at work! So I’ve started with my clothes and my bedroom.
So far I’ve sorted all my clothes, and sent stuff off to charity or to Ghana. I’ve started to flood my eBay and Depop with items that have never been worn. This part was so important as my wardrobe burst recently, and is totally broken. I’m not even joking, I keep it closed with an old belt round the handles to keep the clothes inside it haha! (A new wardrobe is on the way).
Another thing I’ve also started doing, is investing in key wardrobe staples – pieces that every girl should own, that can be worn and added to different outfits. So this month I picked up a few pieces from COS, which I find to be great quality, beautifully minimalistic cuts and perfect to add to any outfit. I’ve also swapped my usual large tote bag with a small cross body bag. Everyday I carry a Louis Vuitton tote bag which I love as it’s so versatile, goes with everything and holds everything. But my bag was always heavy, and I didn’t understand what my load was. I would only use a few things in a day from my bag, and some days I would feel like a Christmas tree, with so many things hanging off me.
The Outfit
I came across this pretty bag  by Alexander Wang while browsing on The Outnet. Which if you didn’t know, is Net-a-Porter’s outlet site, so I managed to get this bag 50% off – win! It’s called the Prisma Envelope Sling, and mine comes with gold hardware and smooth, snake affect leather. LOVE THIS BAG. It’s small but it has 3 compartments, and holds everything I actually need.
The top as I mentioned is from COS, Â and the trousers are old, but I got it from ASOS maybe a year ago or so, I’ll link to ones similar. I put this outfit together for a fresh feel as it was a fresh day. This bell sleeve top is just so versatile mainly because of the colour, and can easily be dressed up or down. The shoes have been my faves in May, and perfect for June.
