This season, oversized blazers worn with belts around the waist had been a major trend, with Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Prada and Miu Miu gracing the runways with this look. Christian Dior and Acne Studios showed off boxy blazers with a more fitted waistline similar to the one I wore in my last post, talking about the basics of SEO. I love suits and love the fact that skirt suits are becoming more of a thing. This combo I’m wearing isn’t actually a set, and the blazer had the matching skirt but it wasn’t available in my size so I had to improvise.
With the autumn months getting more cooler as we approach winter, building out my autumn winter wardrobe has been slow. For the past couple of months. I lost a tone of weight (you will notice it when you look at old blog posts), and Ive had to buy new clothing. I’m still in the process if deciding what I want my style to be. As I look different, and clothes fit different which has hrown me off guard and I’ve had to learn to adapt to the new dress size. Not to mention we’re in the middle of a pandemic! Meaning that there isn’t too much of a point to do too much shopping as we are all stuck at home! But anyway, lets get into this look!
Ecru Oversized Blazer
As previously mentioned, I’ve had a little love affair with Zara lately as Ive had to slowly replace my wardrobe. At one point during lockdown 1.0, I had so many items saved on my Zara app it refused to let me save any more! I think they have hit the nail on the head this year with their pieces, and what I love most about them is that it’s highstreet – but it can be worn expensively without to much effort. Get what I mean?
This is a very simple monochromatic look that can be worn a few ways, like with a chunky belt to cinch the waist in or with over-the-knee boots. Wearing this oversized blazer with the skirt gives this potentially masculine look a feminine flare. As I mentioned before the blazer had it’s own matchng miniskirt but I found it a little square. So I paired it with this highwaited fitted A-line skirt instead. You can make a suit out of different separates as long as its the same colour. Both the blazer and the top are in the colour ecru – which is basically an off white.
Despite lockdown 2.0 happening, I have continued to add to my over growing collection of blazers (so more to come on the blog). Blazrs are just a great way to dress up any outfit, making it look more expensive and put together. Zara and Reiss are my main go-to’s for blazers. You will definitely get what you pay for in terms of the quality of the tailoring. So I recommend investing in a few classic styles. Anyway people, let me know what you think of this look!
