So after a long break over the Christmas and New Years, I’m back on the grind at work. January is one of those long months, and everyone is just waiting to get paid! So it’s a month of saving for me, and cutting down on indulgences. Anyway, I’m back today with another style post, featuring my best sale purchase of the season. These beautiful dusky pink velvet shoes from Aquazzura, are the newest addition to my shoe collection.
If I’m honest, I haven’t really been into the sales lately. I guess I’m realising that I don’t need to buy something, just because it’s discounted. I’m trying to make more calculated purchases, and investing more into my basics. These shoes on the other hand, caught my eye on Net-A-Porter, a few weeks before Boxing Day. I pondered over these for a while, and then they went into sale and sold out. But I managed to track down my size on Matches Fashion, after acting like a crazy woman trying to find them haha!
AQUAZZURA MIRA KNOT VELVET PLATFORM SANDALS
These shoes are amazing. If high heels are not your thing, because they’re uncomfortable or hard to walk in, these are perfect! As they have a block heel, they give you that elegance of high heels, but with that added comfort that you need. These are the perfect representation of the velvet trend which was key last season. These shoes feature a triple knot detail, and a cross over strap around the ankle. The colour is my absolute favourite type of pink. A pale dusky pink, almost mink like.
I chose to style these shoes with my newest favourite top, by a brand I had often seen on ASOS called Y.A.S. I always liked their pieces, but never made a purchase for some reason. This top on the other hand really caught my eye. The top is light-weight and slightly sheered, with polka dot detailing. It goes with so much, and can be worn dressed up, with smart tailored high-waisted trousers or flared tailored trousers. I went for this smart casual look, with customised jeans from ASOS. I’ve been obsessed with raw hem jeans, so took it upon myself to cut a few pairs. It made more sense to do this, rather than waste money buying new pairs.
I hope you liked this look. Shooting in winter has been so hard with the cold, and the rain. I’m just dreaming of sunnier days, and warmer climates. I’m really going to try and push my style and really improve my photography this year. Anyway, thank you for following me on this little journey!
