Hey Dolls! Happy Monday 🙂
Today’s post features this cute pyjama style top I got recently from Mango, and how wearing pyjamas, and pyjama tops in the day has became thing.
So wearing night wear during the day is nothing majorly new, and if anything I’m a little late to the party haha! But all the fashion news I follow, forecasted it to a big trend this spring summer.
With designers such as Celine paving the way, and other catwalk influences from Givenchy and so on, it’s become an established trend. I love the casual, yet smart aesthetic of this look, as the silk fabrics give it that dressy feel – despite it being practically pyjamas. Most seem to style their pyjamas with chunky block heels, and clutch bags, which ties the look together.
As we are now transitioning into summer, I thought I would show you my take on this trend with this pyjama top from Mango. I decided to go for a pyjama style top, rather than actual pyjamas, as I never wear them haha! So if you’re like me, who doesn’t actually wear pyjamas…I wouldn’t advice going to buy brand new silkies, as it’s a more ‘out there’ look, that you may not repeat wearing again. What you need to look out for are tops that have the staple pyjama trimming along the lapels of the top. This is what will make it look like pyjama tops.
Top Shop have a few pyjama tops that look great. I especially love the Pyjama Style Satin Shirt by Boutique, but it’s unfortunately sold out tin most sizes. But check out the site for other options. If you fancy a slightly more high end option, then check out the Erika Cavallini pyjama style shirt via Farfetch.
This particular top is great as it looks fab with smart trousers, giving more of that pyjama look. I’ve styled this up with some mom jeans, to add a little twist to this look. I’ve also worn these with white glovies from Top Shop and of course my shiny new Alexander Wang Prisma bag.
