Hi Guys,
It’s about time you stepped out of your comfort zone, don’t you? This has been on my mind all week. I guess I’ve been feeling a little bored and un inspired, and need to see some changes in certain areas of my life. I think I’ve quoted this saying a million times on my blog already, and my blog is till a baby haha! But the saying goes “If you do what you’ve always done, then you will get what you always gotten”. In other words, if you don’t try something new, you will never experience the things you hope and dream for!
“If you do what you’ve always done, then you will get what you always gottenWhat is Your Comfort Zone?”
I’ve been trying to live by this in the last two years, but I’ve been pushing my boundaries this year especially. Even starting this blog, was stepping out of my comfort zone. After all, I am putting myself out there, and in essence marketing me *covers face*. But I wouldn’t have known how much I actually love blogging and writing if I didn’t start.
The Comfort Zone
These days I feel a month without taking any type of risk, is almost a month wasted. I mention in my previous post ‘Squad Goals #2 – The Side Hustle’, that starting is one of the hardest things. Starting is hard, because we don’t know what to do, to start most of the time. Or we are not ready for the time and the effort it will take us, to achieve or start those things.
Sometimes we are just too comfortable with our day-to-day life, so switching it up is daunting. Truth is, if you don’t step out of your comfort zone, you may potentially miss out on all the good things that it could bring you. Depending on what you staying in your comfort zone for. It could be starting a business or a side hustle, looking for another job, or even breaking up with a boyfriend, or cutting off some dead weight.
These pictures are so imperfectly perfect for this post. There are aspects of the images I hate, but it might just be me, so I’ve posted them anyway. I’ve also been more adventurous with my style, inspired by my blog of course. But I would never have bought this dress a year ago. I actually bought it from Zara in a rush for a church party, and the compliments have been flooding in. So I’ve been wearing it ever since!
Take Aways
So if you don’t step out of your comfort zone today, you will:
- Never know if you have made the right decision.
- This can lead to regret. Always try and live a regret free life!
- You may be limiting or slowing down the speed of your progress.
- Do whats on your heart, like it says in the book of Ecclesiastes (11:9), and enjoy your youthful days. Just be mindful of your actions, as we have to account for it, but enjoy life!
